Information we collect

We collect the details you provide when you create and use an account, including your name, email address, goals, habits, plans, reflections, check-ins and coaching context. Reflections may include sensitive personal information, so please only add information you are comfortable sharing with NorthStar.

Stripe processes payment details. We receive subscription and payment-status information, but not your full card number. If you contact support, we collect the information in that correspondence. If you accept analytics, we collect limited usage information through Vercel Analytics.

Why we use information

We use your information to provide and secure the service, personalise your workspace and AI guidance, process subscriptions, respond to support requests, prevent misuse and improve NorthStar. We rely on performance of our contract with you for providing the service and payment administration, legitimate interests for security and service improvement, and consent for optional analytics.

Service providers and international transfers

We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting and optional analytics, and OpenAI to generate AI guidance. These providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on their contractual and organisational safeguards designed for international transfers.

Retention and security

We keep account information while your account is active and for as long as needed for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes. You can request deletion of your account data by emailing us. We use access controls, encrypted connections and reputable infrastructure providers, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your personal information, or object to certain processing. You can also withdraw optional analytics consent by clearing the site data in your browser. To exercise a right, email us at thedailypurpose14@gmail.com. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your data-protection rights have been infringed.

Cookies and analytics

NorthStar uses essential browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your cookie choice. Optional Vercel Analytics is only loaded after you select “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner. You can reject it without affecting the core service.

Changes

We may update this policy as NorthStar changes. We will publish the revised version here and update the effective date.
